Nationalhcs is seeking Radiologic Technologist candidates for PRN positions at a minimally invasive surgery center in Munster, IN.

This state of the art multi-specialty surgical center offers minimally invasive procedures and experienced staff focused on caring for their patients and their families. The center focuses on pain management and spine, orthopedic, ENT, and pediatric surgeries.

Specifics

  • PRN positions
  • Work week is Monday-Friday
  • No nights, weekends, or holiday
  • Scrubs are furnished by facility
  • Shifts vary, depending on facility needs to cover vacation, sick, emergency, and indefinite leave times
  • Earliest shift start is 6:00am, latest shift end is 6:00pm
    • Procedures occur 7:00am to 5:00pm
    • Will arrive prior to procedure for admitting and stay after procedure for recovery

Description of Work

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries
  • Accurately operate all imaging equipment
  • Demonstrate clinical and age-specific competencies in performing all diagnostic procedures and select accurate technical factors for optimal image quality
  • Practice radiation safety in the operations of radiation-emitting equipment
  • Demonstrate the ability to review images for interpretation
  • Review and interpret physician order for diagnostic x-ray procedure accurately
  • Validate all patient identification before performing any diagnostic x-ray procedure accurately
  • Communicate with patient to obtain medical history and/or specific medical information that is pertinent to the procedure and/or patient’s well being during the procedure
  • Validate proper working conditions and technical factors of LPL imaging equipment and procedure room
  • Explain procedure to patient to facilitate patient cooperation and alleviate patient anxiety; ensure patient comfort and safety
  • Assume responsibility of patient care during the imaging procedure to include infection control
  • Follow procedure protocols and policies and procedures for performing diagnostic x-ray procedures
  • Demonstrate competence in collimating, patient positioning, and radiation safety to reduce radiation exposure as much as possible
  • Practice radiation safety for patients, family, visitors, staff, facility, and self
  • Critique all images for image quality for interpretation

Requirements

  • Active/Clear registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (AART)
  • Active/Clear BLS (American Heart Association)
  • Experience working with electronic medical records, email, and computer literate
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry over 20 pounds and push/pull over 25 pounds on a regular basis
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk at least five hours per day (as shift requires)
  • Successful completion of competency testing, drug screening, background check, physical exam, immunizations, and other Nationalhcs screening/application requirements
  • Successful completion of other client/facility screening/application requirements
