Description of Work

  • Assist with patient care and treatment.
  • Observe patients for changes in condition and report to a nurse or medical provider.
  • Perform various simple treatments such as wound care, vital sign checks, electrocardiograms, etc. as ordered by a physician.
  • Collect laboratory specimens and perform point-of-care testing.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory processing.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and render emergency care to stabilize patients and prevent deterioration
  • Transfer patients to the appropriate level of care.
  • Assist other health care professionals through the gathering of subjective and objective data, provision of aspects of care, educating patients, etc.
  • Physical activity requirements include climbing up and downstairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, and hearing.
  • Workers are exposed to infectious diseases and must adhere to bloodborne pathogen exposure control plan
  • Must be able to lift and/or turn patients, exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently


  • Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program from an accredited institution
  • Current/Clear listing as a Nurse Aide I on the Missouri Nurse Aide Registry
  • Minimum 1-year recent CNA experience
  • Direct care experience within the previous year
  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • Comply with all HIPPA laws and regulations, and facility policies and procedures
  • Outstanding communication, listening, and observation skills
  • Successful completion of competency testing, drug screen, background check, physical exam, immunizations, and other agency screening/application requirements
  • Successful completion of other Client screening/application requirements
