Job Summary

Nationalhcs is seeking qualified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) candidates with ADATC experience to work with patients in a drug/alcohol dependency center in Greenville, NC.

The primary purpose of this position is to perform inpatient treatment and medical stabilization of males with substance use and other co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses, for ongoing community-based treatment and recovery.


  • Shifts:
    • 1st shift (0645 to 1915)
  • 12-hour shifts
  • 36 hours one week, 48 hours following week
  • May be required to rotate shifts to meet staffing needs
  • Scrubs: Black scrub tops and bottoms must be worn
  • Must attend facility Orientation

Description of Work

(under supervision of RN)

  • Medication administration (including treatments)
  • Transcribing physician orders
  • Direct patient care
  • Assist RN in directing Healthcare Tech in the delivery of patient care as outlined by institutional rules and professional nursing practices
  • Assist in the development of nursing care plans based on diagnosis and pertinent medical information, patient needs, and patient care problems
  • Carry out the nursing care process and set up an environment to assist the patient in obtaining a maximum level of functioning or recovery
  • Inform and communicate with other disciplines on campus and the community as it relates to healthcare needs
  • Other duties deemed appropriate to this position


  • 1-year Substance Use Rehabilitation work experience
  • Current/Clear NC nurse licensure
  • Current/Clear BLS (American Heart Association)
  • Experience working with electronic medical records, email, and computer literate
  • Successful completion of competency testing, drug screen, background check, physical exam, immunizations, and other agency screening/application requirements
  • Successful completion of other Client screening/application requirements
