Job Summary

Nationalhcs has Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) positions available for PRN work at two separate skilled nursing facilities in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains (Rutherford County). Facilities provide comprehensive rehabilitation and nursing services to patients with varying levels of disabilities. Facilities are approximately 10 minutes from each other.

Bostic, NC - 30-bed skilled, 37 bed assisted living

Forest City, NC - 100-bed skilled, 25 bed assisted living

Description of Work

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living
  • Obtain and record vital signs and weights per policy
  • Answer patient calls
  • Apply simple clean dressings, slings, stockings, and support bandages under the direction of a licensed nurse, as permitted by state regulations
  • Administer prescription medications and/or start IV if needed
  • Give injections
  • Monitor catheters
  • Clean patients' equipment and general living area, as assigned
  • Dress wounds
  • Assist with medical procedures
  • Clean rooms and bed linens
  • Interact with residents for social stimulation and emotional support
  • Document patient health issues and report to nurses


  • Minimum 1-year nursing experience, preferably in a nursing home, clinical, or psychiatric setting
  • Active/Clear nurse licensure valid in North Carolina
  • Active/Clear BLS (American Heart Association)
  • Direct care experience within the previous year in the US
  • Experience working with electronic medical records, email, and computer literate
  • Successful completion of competency testing, drug screen, background check, physical exam, immunizations, and other agency screening/application requirements
  • Successful completion of other Client/facility screening/application requirements
