Job Summary

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) positions in St. Louis, MO. This facility is a residential school with approximately 40 students ages 6 to 21, and also includes a campus day school of approximately 18 severely disabled students.


  • 1-week Orientation
  • Shifts:
    • Sunday through Thursday 11:00pm to 7:30am
  • Long-term placement assignment
  • One-half hour lunch break
  • Experience with special needs children is a plus
  • Will have contact with students and staff
  • Schedule is based on school calendar

Description of Work

  • This is advanced professional and supervisory, educational or specialized nursing work
  • Coordinate, direct, evaluate, and participate in the nursing care of physically or mentally ill or disabled patients or developmentally disabled patients
  • Application of advanced and/or specialized nursing skills in the performance of duties
  • Responsible for all nursing services in a moderate-sized multi-ward unit or program
  • Serves as the facility-wide nursing supervisor on an assigned shift, depending on the side of the facility and the diversity of nursing services provided
  • Function in a specialized clinical, education, or administrative capacity in areas such as psychiatric nursing, nursing staff development, quality assurance, utilization review employee health, infection control, oncology, endoscopy, etc
  • Must be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision


  • Active/Clear Missouri professional Nurse licensure
  • Minimum 1-year professional nursing experience
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Direct care experience within the previous year
  • Ability to follow care plans and/or clinical orders
  • Active/Clear BLS (American Heart Association)
  • Successful completion of competency testing, drug screen, background check, physical exam, immunizations, and other agency screening/application requirements
  • Successful completion of other Client screening/application requirements
