Job Summary

Nationalhcs has a position for a Registered Nurse with Infection Control experience in Greenville, NC.

The Infection Control Nurse is responsible for the prevention, investigation, observation, and reporting of infectious diseases across a wide range of environments. The Infection Control Nurse works alongside other healthcare staff to ensure that all measures are taken to reduce and prevent healthcare-associated infection.



  • 13-week renewable assignment
  • Set schedule, Monday through Friday
  • 0800 - 1630 shift

Description of Work

  • Provide a system for identifying, reporting, investigating, and controlling infections and communicable diseases in an in-patient environment
  • Provide a sanitary environment to avoid sources of and transmission of infectious and communicable diseases
  • Develop, implement, and maintain an active program for overseeing all areas of infection control, including responding to bacterial, viral, and nosocomial threats or outbreaks by education, re-evaluating affected areas and ensuring that proper protocols are followed as specified by CDC and State policies
  • Read and practice the DSOHF policy for the safe practice of using antibiotic therapy
  • Perform other position-related duties as assigned


  • Graduate of accredited Nursing program
  • Minimum one-year clinical experience -OR- Facility specific approval is required
  • Active/Clear Registered Nurse License (NCLEX-RN) to practice in the State of North Carolina
  • Active/Clear Certification in Infection Control
  • Compliant with state healthcare regulatory requirements
  • Ability to follow care plans and/or clinical orders
  • Active/Clear BLS (American Heart Association)
  • Successful completion of competency testing, drug screen, background check, physical exam, immunizations, and other agency screening/application requirements
  • Successful completion of other Client screening/application requirements​
