Job Summary

LPN Specifics

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) positions, School campus
  • Approximately 40 students ages 6 to 21 + approximately 18 severely disabled students
  • 1-week Orientation
  • Shifts:
    • Sunday through Thursday
    • Evening Shift 3:00pm to 11:30pm
  • Long-term placement assignment
  • One-half-hour lunch break
  • Experience with special needs children is a plus
  • Will have contact with students and staff

LPN ​​​​Description of Work

  • This is advanced professional and supervisory, educational, or specialized nursing work
  • Coordinate, direct, evaluate, and participate in the nursing care of physically or mentally ill or disabled patients or developmentally disabled patients
  • Serves as the facility-wide nursing supervisor on an assigned shift
  • Function in a specialized clinical, education, or administrative capacity in areas such as psychiatric nursing, nursing staff development, quality assurance, utilization review of employee health, infection control, oncology, and/or endoscopy
  • Must be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision

LPN Requirements

  • Active/Clear Missouri Professional Nurse licensure
  • Minimum 1-year professional nursing experience
  • Graduation from an accredited school with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Direct care experience within the previous year
  • Active/Clear BLS (American Heart Association)
  • Successful completion of screening/application requirements (e.g., competency testing, drug screening, background check)
